Data-Driven Destinations: PMVB’s Journey to Tourism Intelligence

We helped the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau turn disconnected tourism data into accessible insights for marketing, planning, and regional partners.

Challenge – A fragmented view of the Poconos

PMVB had data on advertising, weather, and visitor activity, but it lived in separate systems. This made it hard to see how campaigns affected tourism.

Solution - One place for tourism intelligence

We built an AWS data lake to bring PMVB’s data together. Cleaned, standardized information now feeds dashboards and analysis tools.

The Issue

More than 20 disconnected sources

The inputs arrived through different platforms, APIs, and file formats. PMVB needed a dependable way to combine them before it could compare performance across sources.

Our Approach

From raw data to usable metrics

Automated pipelines collect, clean, and organize the data in Amazon S3. An embedded QuickSight dashboard makes more than 115 tourism and community metrics available to explore.

What We Built

We turn the approach into a working system.

Once the direction is clear, our senior specialists design and build the architecture, workflows, and tools needed to put it into practice. We test, document, and refine everything alongside your team

Client Concerns – And How We Solved For Them

We needed to offer meaningful robust insights without exposing partner data

Hotels and other partners could benefit from shared analysis, but their raw data needed protection. PMVB needed a way to examine campaign impact across organizations without making sensitive records visible.

Secure collaboration and easier questions

AWS Clean Rooms supports privacy-conscious analysis with partners, while Amazon Q lets users ask questions in plain English. PMVB can explore trends and create reports without relying on a technical team for every request.

Faster reporting, clearer decisions

The project has reduced preparation time for monthly and quarterly reports by 90%. PMVB and its partners can now use a shared view of tourism trends to inform campaigns and regional planning.
